Launching at LDF 2013, This is Provenance introduces ‘Encounters with Provenance’ a series of curated encounters throughout London during the London Design Festival.  Inspired by the concept of ‘contemporary cabinets of curiosity’, the exhibition trail will feature a selection of beautifully curated cabinets containing objects by handpicked designers, each accompanied by a personal ‘Letter of Provenance’.  These intimate accounts invite the visitor to appreciate the value of each piece through the eyes of the designer and why they were created, celebrating the cultural and technological inspirations that helped to shape the final object.

Featuring work by Donna Bates...
As part of the London Design Festival, Donna’s beautiful ‘Parlour Lights collection will be showcased in a ‘contemporary cabinet of curiosity’ at The Modern Pantry. Curated by This is Provenance for the Encounters with Provenance exhibition trail.  Join us to discover how tradition and heritage, the source of Donna’s inspiration and working methods, leads to great design.
